Athletic Field Services
Volkening Consulting offers their clients a knowledge base that will allow their playing fields to do more than look good on paper. Field designs will create facilities that take into account the budget and ease of field management after the installation is complete as well as the future users of the facility. Renovations and management plans will also utilize this knowledge to create a simple straightforward approach to athletic field management. When problems do arise, site visits will allow for quick troubleshooting and recommendations.
Design: Both natural surface and synthetic athletic field design including baseball mounds and infields, root-zone materials, drainage systems, irrigation systems, grass seed, sod, sports equipment, and fencing. Project specifications and AutoCAD drawings will be created for the client to utilize in the bidding and construction process.
Renovation Planning: Renovation plans will include field consultations to determine the most effective renovation solutions. Renovations could include anything from rebuilding mounds and baseball infields to replacing entire fields. Project specifications and AutoCAD drawings, where applicable, will be created for the client to utilize in the bidding process. Synthetic versus natural turf comparisons will also be available including installation and maintenance costs as well as product performance evaluations.
Athletic Field Management Plans: Written management programs will be created for new fields or fields in need of new management practices to achieve optimum results.
NR 151 Nutrient Management Plans: Nutrient management plans are available for all turfgrass areas including athletic fields.
Athletic Field Consultations: On-site field consultations will be conducted to determine the cause of poor performance on athletic fields. Testing such as soil nutrient analysis, soil texture, and disease or insect identification will be conducted through the University of Wisconsin. Clients will be given a written report of the findings and recommended corrections.
Athletic Field Management Seminars and Training Sessions: Training sessions can be customized to members of your “field maintenance crew” whether they are paid employees, parent groups, teams members or other volunteers, everyone can benefit from our clearly presented training programs.
